BEING ENVELOPED IN A HAZE OF BRILLIANT LIGHT

Lesson 42

It is interesting to note how the things we carry in our consciousness affect the atmosphere around us.

"As a man thinks in his heart, so is he" - Prov.23:7

When we are upset with a situation or a person, there is a cloud of darkness around us and everyone is repelled by this darkness. There is even a deeper place of darkness where our negative opinions are reflected in our facial expressions and the atmosphere around us is stand-offish - again driving others away, because they feel judged and disapproved of.

The contrary is much more powerful though! When our mind is set on things above, we look at someone else through the eyes of our loving, gracious and merciful Father. Our atmosphere is filled with the same quality of these attributes and we can act in true, unfeigned love for our brothers and sisters from a pure heart.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit will always produce light and glory in us, over us and around us, which is the overshadowing of the glory of God, which can even have such powerful effects as the "shadow" of Peter falling on people, healing them.

The Greek Word for God's overshadowing glory is episkiazo (Mark 9:7/Heb.9:5), (meaning to envelop in a haze of brilliancy).

Let us keep our focus on Jesus so that nothing can move us out of the light of His glory. Then let this glory radiance shine over the people around us who are in despair and hopelessness, enveloping them in God's love to heal, deliver and restore.

“Arise [from spiritual depression to a new life], shine [be radiant with the glory and brilliance of the Lord]; for your light has come,
And the glory and brilliance of the Lord has risen upon you." Isaiah 60:1 Amp.
